Guidelines for Authors

  1. The Gul-o-Berg Research journal (English) invites authors to submit original and unpublished manuscripts that contribute to the advancement of scholarship in English language, literature, linguistics, cultural studies, pedagogy, and interdisciplinary approaches.
  2. Manuscripts may take the form of research articles between 5,000 and 8,000 words, review articles between 4,000 and 6,000 words, essays or short papers between 2,000 and 4,000 words, and book reviews between 1,000 and 2,000 words.
  3. All submissions must be prepared in Microsoft Word format using Times New Roman font size 12, double spacing, and one-inch margins.
  4. Each manuscript should begin with a title page that includes the title of the paper, the full name of the author or authors, institutional affiliation, ORCID if available, and a contact email address. An abstract of 150 to 250 words should follow, accompanied by four to six keywords.
  5. Tables and figures must be numbered consecutively, include captions, and cite sources where applicable. References must follow either APA (7th edition) or MLA (9th edition) style consistently, and all in-text citations must correspond accurately to the reference list.
  6. Every manuscript will undergo a double-blind peer review process in which both authors and reviewers remain anonymous, and each submission will be evaluated by at least two independent experts on the basis of originality, scholarly rigor, clarity, and contribution to the field.
  7. Authors must ensure that their work is original, not under consideration elsewhere, and free from plagiarism, fabrication, or falsification.
  8. Disclosure of funding sources and conflicts of interest is required, and research involving human participants must comply with ethical standards and include appropriate approvals.
  9. Manuscripts should be submitted through the designated submission portal, and authors will receive confirmation upon receipt.
  10. Authors may be asked to revise their manuscripts based on reviewer or editorial feedback, and final acceptance rests with the Editor/s.
  11. Proofs will be shared with authors before publication, and appeals against editorial decisions must be formally justified.
  12. Complaints regarding ethical breaches or editorial conduct will be investigated in accordance with COPE guidelines.
