Abstract

This editorial note marks the launch of the inaugural issue of the Gul-o-Berg Research Journal (English), published by Gulberg College. It situates the journal within the institution's long-standing academic tradition, tracing its roots to the college magazine first published in 2002 under the patronage of Dr. Arifa Syeda Zahra. The note outlines the journal's core purpose: to institutionalize a systematic research culture at female public colleges and to promote sustained scholarly dialogue rooted in internationally recognized academic standards. It confirms that all contributions in this issue underwent formal peer review in accordance with Higher Education Commission (HEC) guidelines, and acknowledges the editorial team, advisory and editorial boards, and technical contributors, including faculty, staff, and Computer Science students who supported the journal's development and its digital presence. The editorial affirms Gulberg College's broader institutional commitment to research, scholarly creativity, and intellectual debate, and expresses the aspiration that future issues will continue upholding HEC standards while strengthening the journal's role as a credible academic forum, particularly for women scholars.
